No-exam life insurance
When applicants skip a medical exam, what the approval process looks like and what happens if you don't qualify.
Several carriers now provide fast-track underwriting: within specified age ranges and benefit thresholds, they reach decisions using your answers, prescription data, driving history and other databases instead of scheduling a physical. Some verdicts come through within a day. You'll see noted on each rate quote whether a screening is required, might be needed, or not expected.
What it changes
Bypassing an exam is not the same as bypassing review. Stated information is verified, and a policy issued based on untrue statements can be voided in the first 24 months. Carriers reserve the right to order lab work or an exam if their research raises questions; you may opt out at that moment.
Who tends to qualify
Usually people in their 50s or under who request coverage within the carrier's accelerated ceiling, with a clear health background and non-tobacco status for the past year-plus. If underwriting can draw on recent medical records with bloodwork, certain carriers accept those in place of a new exam.
When an exam is requested, a paramedical specialist commonly performs it on-site—whether your residence or workplace in the Bell Gardens region—taking 20 to 30 minutes with no fee to you. For applicants in good condition, the exam results can bump you up a class level, so it's not inherently undesirable.
